Mind Body Birth

Birth is more than the capabilities of just our bodies. It’s learning to connect the mind and body to create perfect harmony to bring baby earthside.

Whether you intend on having a natural birth, one with any of the many tools of our birthing tool boxes or a planned belly birth, being mindful of that mind body connection will help in having a positive birth experience. During this 90 minute workshop, Kate, a certified birth doula, childbirth educator & prenatal yoga instructor, will guide you through creating that connection with your mind and body.

We will begin with a gentle prenatal yoga practice that will not only help keep our bodies flexible and strong, but we will touch on some of the many poses that we can utilize during birth to create the perfect position for baby's descent. Different breathing techniques throughout our practice will be vital for a calm and empowered birth, while meditation and relaxation techniques will help us learn how to calm our anxious minds.

After our practice we will learn the science behind creating the perfect birth affirmations and affirmation cards to keep our minds focused on the positives of birth and how we can implement them into a daily practice throughout pregnancy to make this positive mindset second nature during birth.
